OverDrive Behind the Scenes: East Coast edition!

Welcome to the East Coast!

OverDrive has a large and expansive network of games. However, in todays blog post, we thought we'd discuss the east coast, then work our way west!

The following is a concept map of the east coast. Although it is by no way accurate to the scale of the in game experience, it gives an insight on what's to come. Within this map there are many different W.I.P games such as OD: Chesapeake City, OD: Stroudsburg and more! 

The interesting thing about the east coast, but more importantly the mid-Atlantic is the vast landscape. Some areas are swampy, some are flat and rural (almost like the Midwest). Some places are packed dense with trees and vast forests, and some are packed with mountains and cliffs. At OverDrive, we are reflecting this vast scenery.

 The twisting and flowing treks of Stroudsburg, (developed by dshorter100), will be sure to be an enjoyable drive as the roads move with the wavy land of Pennsylvania. Or, for a change of scenery,  explore the farmlands of southern New Jersey, or the land of suburbia in Delaware! The east coast is varied with regions to explore!
Be sure to check out some of the elegant and monumental bridges as well, such as the Chesapeake City Bridge (pictured below). The East Coast of OverDrive will be a great region for bridge hunters looking for historic and new bridges alike.

This is just the east coast alone! In a future post, we will discuss the Midwest of OverDrive and the exploration it has to offer! No matter who you are, the OverDrive Universe will have an area you will be eager to explore!

Scenery on US-50

US-50 in Overdrive's Carson Valley game is nearly 65% completed, with the scenery being about 35% completed. With that said, it's about time to show off some of the said scenery.

US-50 will be the largest highway in Carson Valley, with 8+ miles of driving. The highway traverses many different landscapes; from the arid valley in Silver City to the urban landscape of Carson City, to the mountains of the Sierra Nevadas.

US-50 also features many interesting interchanges and intersections, which will offer some fun driving experiences, and smooth transitions to the other areas of the map.

US-50 also forms a concurrency with Interstate 580 (which will be showcased later.) This concurrency bypasses the city of Carson City through a Partial Cloverleaf as well as a standard intersection at the end of I-580.

No matter what job you take, US-50 will play a major role in the gameplay! Whether you're road tripping through the mountains, delivering cargo in your truck, or busting speeders as a police officer, US-50 should and will be a delight to drive on!
